Training Courses

TC 1 – Protective Clothing in the 21^st Century

Everything you need to know on high performance fibers/systems including outer shell fabrics, moisture barriers, thermal barriers, reflective trim, and reinforcing turnouts. You will learn why a system is important to you and how a system works. Learn what and how hazardous materials affect your turnout gear fabrics. Learn how to develop a yearly inspection program for your turnout gear including developing a maintenance program and storing your turn out gear. Also learn about how to clean and repair your turnout gear – what to do and what NOT to do.

TC 2 – Knowing Your SCBA and Its Capabilities

This course covers all brands of NFPA SCBA. We will discuss the inspections required by NFPA, OSHA, and NIOSH, what flow testing does and does not prove, and face mask fit testing. We will go over mandatory SCBA training for fire fighters and medical requirements for fire fighters to wear SCBA. Also covered are emergency procedures and suggested training drills. Maintenance technician and other levels of certification and are discussed.
